HOBET Engages Community Media Platforms and Survivors of SGBV in CLEARING SGBV in our communities in Limbe Cameroon

Collaborative Approach in Reducing Sexual Gender-Based Violence (Stepping It Up: CLEARING SGBV)

This is the approach Hope for a Better Tomorrow (HOBET) has been using to shift Norms and attitudes and cause behavioural change concerning the stigmatization of Survivors of SGBV and how cases of SGBV are reported by the media.
Between Thursday 13th – Saturday 15th of October 2022, Limbe was host to survivors of different forms of SGBV and community media platforms to discuss the importance of speaking for survivors as the first step towards healing, having a one-on-one session with counsellors and on the part of the media platforms, they had the opportunity to receive knowledge on Ethically reporting cases of SGBV and practical sessions on documenting and reporting cases of SGBV.

he 2 days workshop couldn’t end without an experience-sharing evening where survivors with the 2 main Facilitator of day 1 Mme Nakinti Besumbu and Mme Nsono during the fireside 🔥 chat encouraged the survivors that the activity was therapeutic and encouraged them to be strong as they shared their stories with their peers.
Our appreciation goes to our major partners Women Deliver and Youth Deliver for their continued support and Followup to see that the impact reaches the grassroots.
